March Newletter (Posted late)

Dear Family in Christ,
Our last six months have progressed at a pace that we can handle well. We have had times to rest and times to work. We have also had times when we hardly stopped at all! Throughout this time, we have deeply appreciated the prayers and support of our friends, family, and supporters. We pray for you, as well.
SeptemberWe took time to settle down and stabilize ourselves before we set out into the mad, mad schedule of support-raising. We weren't completely idle during this time! During this month, we printed up brochures and budgets, made up videos, and bought our tickets to Chile. Our computer also crashed during this month, so there were a few things we had to remake or retype. Much to our relief, we did manage to recover the most important files and quite a few pictures.
OctoberWe started counting down the days until our trip to Chile. Our home church asked Mike to preach, we went up on the 7th. We had some difficulties with the actual purchasing of tickets. It cleared up by the 15th. On the 26th, we left for Chile. After almost 25 hours of traveling, waiting in airports, and riding in airplanes, we arrived in Santiago. During the rest of our month there, we met with other missionaries and nationals. Jack Swanson took us to two side-by-side coastal towns called Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. In Valparaíso, we met with Carlos Villegas, the man who writes the curriculum for the Bible Institute. During our meeting with him, Mike received a tentative position as professor of Hermeneutics, whenever he's ready.
NovemberOur month began in Chile. We tried to get in touch with Paul Thurston, a missionary who has a complete media studio set up in Chile. He had gone to the United States, but we spoke to his son, who works with him. Tabi came away from the meeting greatly encouraged and more resolved to set up her small, mobile media studio in order to provide media services to the missionaries. She's planning to partner with Liz Díaz in order to combine resources and get the studio set up sooner. Liz will use the studio to record Christian Chilean musicians. On Sunday, Mike preached in Spanish at the church. We used the rest of our time to visit the Chilean families there, visit the missionaries six hours south of Santiago (Vic and Pam De León), and tour the city of Santiago. Altogether, we enjoyed our stay greatly.
December - JanuaryWe took a break from our support-raising to settle into a schedule and to spend time with family. We also used this time to work on our presentation and resources. We did take one day in January to test how many churches we could visit in one day. Our result: ten!
FebruaryWe spent February working and visiting churches on weekends. We had the great blessing of attending Homecoming at Johnson Bible College. Jesse and Mary Ann very graciously lodged us at their house. We are very grateful to them. While in Knoxville, we also visited Cornerstone Christian Church. They gave us the most generous love offering we have yet received. We also found a hispanic ministry to be involved in while we are here in Columbus.

That all brings us to March, the month we finally sit down and list our blessings for you to read. We thank you all very much for your gift of money, of time, of hospitality, of encouragement, and of prayer. You have blessed us far more than we could ever wish. Please continue to pray for us as our plans progress to "level 2" of our support-raising process. "Level 1" involved getting part-time jobs and raising enough support to cover our living expenses. "Level 2" will involve quitting our jobs in order to dedicate ourselves full-time to raising support. "Level 3," we hope, will have us flying to Chile to find a place to live. Again, thank-you for your prayers and your support. You guys are the best.
In Him,Mike and Tabi Boyce
